Hello Again

Well, I received an email today from Robin an old fellow Soul Patroller about a reunion of sorts. Talked to a few peeps I haven't spoken to an over a year and realized I really missed everyone and I can't wait to hear what everyone's been up to. Why did I drop off the grid? Well, let's just say I was in a depression that I didn't get out of until recently when I got divorced. Suddenly, it was like a black cloud was lifted and a huge weight on my shoulders gone. That's all I think I'll say about that except to say that Bug is doing fine and has a relationship with him.

So what am I doing now? Renovating my house. I've ripped out all the carpet in the house. That was SOOO much fun and theraputic. I painted too. I'm still amazed with what I've accomplished on my own. I'm also constantly baking, well, let's just say that there's never a shortage of cookies in my house! Other then that, just hanging with Bug and getting out with my friends. There's no significant other in my life, I'm not even dating. I really have no interest right now maybe sometime in the future. I'm really enjoying my freedom!

Took Bug to Mexico and Jamaica in 2008. Here's some pics. Bug is now taller then me and still growing like a weed. He's still into fishing but his favorite pastime is now golfing.

Bug in Mexico - him and I and two locals went out fishing, he loved it!

we swam with the dolphins in Jamaica, something we'll never forget

not much else to tell. Not sure how often I'll write here. Just thought if anyone was interested in what I've been up to, well, now you know. So as I said, not sure how often I'll post but I'm not going to disappear from my friends again. Hugs

psst. still waiting on a winner from last Friday's trivia

USS New York

She was built with 24 tons of scrap steel from the World Trade Center .

It is the fifth in a new class of warship - designed for missions that include special operations against terrorists. It will carry a crew of 360 sailors and 700 combat-ready Marines to be delivered ashore by helicopters and assault craft.

Steel from the World Trade Center was melted down in a foundry in Amite , LA to cast the ship's bow section. When it was poured into the molds on Sept. 9, 2003, "those big rough steelworkers treated it with total reverence," recalled Navy Capt. Kevin Wensing, who was there. "It was a spiritual moment for everybody there."

Junior Chavers, foundry operations manager, said that when the trade center steel first arrived, he touched it with his hand and the "hair on my neck stood up." "It had a big meaning to it for all of us," he said. "They knocked us down. They can't keep us down. We're going to be back."

The ship's motto? "Never Forget"
